Spread the word, people, as much as you can about the veteran South African journalist Adil Bradlow, who has been detained in Egypt while working as a cameraman for Al Jazeera.Bradlow  – an award-winning photographer and cameraman who has worked for Associated Press, the SABC and CBS –  was picked up with other Al Jazeera journalists this week in Egypt.Al Jazeera told Grubstreet today that he was picked up  with four colleagues on Tuesday afternoon while filming in Cairo. To date they still haven’t been released but Bradlow’s colleague Mohammed Baher, an Egyptian, was released late last night.

Based in Johannesburg, Bradlow went freelance a few years ago, working in SA and outside – especially in conflict environment – for organisations such as the BBC, Al Jazeera and Sky News.

Please tell as many people as you can, guys – especially those with influence.

The SA government hasn’t displayed much vigour in the past in working towards getting SA journos detained or missing in action in foreign countries out of danger and back home – and keep Adil in your thoughts.
