In February 1996 the heir to the British Throne, Prince Charles undertook a trip to Southern Africa and I was fortunate enough to join him for his travels through Lesotho, South Africa and Swaziland. Accompanying him was his youngest son Prince Harry on his first foreign trip since the death of his mother, Princess Diana. The two princes attended the coronation of the King of Lesotho Letsi III, meetings with Nelson Mandela and
the Spice Girls, and cultural excursions
to Zululand and Swaziland.
